Nora Beachner is 5 years old and lives in Seneca, Missouri. She is the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion for 2022 and has received services through your local CMN Hospital, Freeman Health System. This year, Nora wanted to donate money she raised selling walnuts to CMN Hospitals. Collecting walnuts is an annual tradition for Nora, her grandmother and cousins. This year, they collected two thousand pounds of walnuts, which sold for $400.
A few phone calls were made to local businesses after Nora made her donation to CMN Hospitals and a small, but mighty movement was sparked. Within a few weeks, over 35 local businesses and individuals, who were inspired by Nora’s generosity, have made a matching donation ($400 or more) to CMN Hospitals. So far, over $20,400 has been donated to help local sick and injured kids.

Our Children’s Miracle Network Hospital at Freeman Health System raises funds for local children and families. They receive assistance for those with medical needs, such as prescriptions, medical equipment and specialty care. Funds are also raised to support Freeman pediatricians and maternal/child departments, including Freeman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Freeman Maternity Center and pediatric departments, for pediatric equipment, medical supplies, educational programs and more. One hundred percent of every dollar raised locally stays local – donations help children and their families in 14 counties in Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas.
